It’s almost Oscar Night (circle R, no kidding), and what funner way to celebrate this Most Important Evening than by gathering lots of your friends to watch the festivities, trash the fashion, and cringe through those marvelously self-indulgent acceptance speeches?
And cringe-worthy we’re almost certain this year’s Oscars will be, mostly because noted King of the World James Cameron will be front and center, ready to accept a dozen-ish little gold-plated men for the global phenom that is Avatar. So, in his honor, we’ve assembled a Wish List of Shoes to Wear to an Avatar-Themed Oscars Party.
The movie has so many hooks — a gray rock that goes for $20 million a kilo; a jungle-covered far-away planet populated by a hard-to-kill and blue-toned tribe; airborne dragons; and, of course, marines — that it’s just a great theme for a party. Our Wish List shoes reflect many of these elements, some overtly, others tangentially. Either way, these are fun shoes if you’re an Avatar lover, or if just you happen to like blue shoes, or shoes with gray rocks on them.
